When Dan the dog came over...
Once upon a time there was little girl (oops, I mean big girl) called Odessa Spencer. She lived with her mummy and daddy and two lazy cats in the beautiful land of Wandsworth.
Odessa was just like other girls - she liked singing and dancing and eating chocolate for breakfast. However, there is one thing you need to know about Odessa - SHE LOVED CATS!! I mean she really, really, REALLY loved cats! Black, white, stripy and ginger, she loves them all. And she knows everything about cats. So when Dan the Dog came over to stay she didn't know what to do. She didn't know anything about dogs and was worried...
And then Dan said to her, 'Psst...I will tell you a secret, don't tell anyone else, but despite looking like a dog on the outside, in the inside I am really just like any other cats you might know'
AND IT WAS TRUE!!
Dan ate fish just like other cats, lollipops (everyone knows cats adore lollipops) and was playing with Odessa's cats Dante and Beatrice.
Odessa stopped worrying and just did things with Dan she would usually do with her cats.
When it was time for Dan to leave and come back to the nursery, he said to Odessa: 'Thank for playing with me so nicely. Please remember even though you look like a girl on the outside from time to time you can also be a cat if you like.'
The thing is my darling Odessa that you can be who ever you want to be.
The book you can see above is Odessa's homework. She was given a nursery toy - "Dan the Dog" to take care of and she had to document their weekend together. And we did a little story about Dan the Dog who at heart is a cat...

autumn in Battersea Park
Battersea Park must be the best park in South West London - my part of London. It's by the river, full of trees and charming alleys all covered by this time of year with colorful leaves, squirrels jumping every where, birds singing - it's truly beautiful .
It's also a perfect park for kids; it has a little zoo housing monkeys and lemurs, an amazing outdoor play area, a big playground for smaller kids and an adventure playground for older ones, as well as a one o'clock club and sports fields.
You can also hire all sorts of bicycles (including a weird one where you lie down or one with massive basket in front for children) Tim and I hired them on few occasions and absolutely love cycling with Odessa along the Thames.
